MCLA’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax preparation for households making $64,000 or less, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and limited English-language speakers. IRS certified volunteers can help you prepare your federal and state taxes with fast, electronic filing.
Our VITA site is student run and operates only during the active tax season (Early February - Mid April) and is closed on holidays, school breaks, and upon cancellation of classes due to inclement weather.
Our program offers in-person tax appointments in addition to drop-off services. You can expect your appointment to last 60 - 90 minutes based on complexity. Remember to bring all your documents including Social Security Cards for all persons included on the return, tax documents such as W-2s, 1099s, and 1098s, and your photo ID. You must schedule an appointment to use this service.
Appointments are offered starting February 12, 2024 through April 10, 2024. Call to schedule an appointment at (413) 442-3184.
