For 10 of the past 12 years, the College has been ranked by U.S. News and World Report
as a Top Ten Public Liberal Arts College and has risen to #7 on the list for the second
year in a row. MCLA also ranks #33 as a Top Performer on Social Mobility and first
among all Massachusetts liberal arts schools.
MCLA was named the top four-year public institution for gender equality in a report
from the Eos Foundation, an education advocacy organization based in Massachusetts.
MCLA is a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC), a national
consortium of visionary public institutions that work to advance and promote the mission
and distinctive role of the liberal arts in public higher education; our 26 COPLAC
partners include Keene State College, the University of North Carolina Asheville,
and St. Mary's College of Maryland
The College offers 21 majors and more than 80 programs of study which lead to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree
