Sixth Grade College Visits

Each spring, sixth graders from all of Berkshire County's public schools visit the campuses of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Berkshire Community College, Williams College, and Bard College at Simon's Rock.  In 2015, visiting students experienced elements of MCLA's Chemistry, Physics, Communications, World Cultures, Athletic Training, and Fine Arts programs, as well as a tour of the dorms.

By touring a campus and speaking with college students and faculty, students are encouraged to aspire toward taking all the necessary steps to pursue higher education. Each year, between 1,100 and 1,200 students participate in activities including campus tours, demonstrations and workshops in science, arts, technology and career planning. They also enjoy meals in campus dining facilities and visits to the dorms.
