CHARLOTTE Degen Emergency Fund

This fund was established to assist students experiencing an emergency need for funds. Applications can be returned to Student Affairs, Campus Center 305. 

Student Emergency Fund

Through generous donor support, the emergency fund is available for currently enrolled students experiencing an unexpected financial burden a crisis. Be it food insecurity, technology needs, family emergencies, or other unforeseen challenges, students may apply to receive support by emailing Marissa Parker at marissa.parker@mcla.edu. The funds are limited and are replenished annually. To support as many students as possible, students may only apply once during the academic year.

Student Rights under FERPA

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ("FERPA") of 1974, as amended, ensures the confidentiality of student educational records and restricts disclosure of such records to third parties, except as authorized by law. FERPA also affords students certain rights with respect to their education records. 

Student Copyright Laws

Students are expected to review and abide by federal copyright laws. A Summary of Civil and Criminal Penalties for Violation of Federal Copyright Laws is provided.

Sexual Violence Prevention

MCLA is committed to creating and maintaining a safe, healthy learning, living, and working environment where all forms of sexual violence, sexual harassment, gender-based harassment, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and retaliation are strictly prohibited.
