MCLA Sergeant Justin Biasin will be MCLA-Pittsfield’s featured Artist of the Month, with work on display at the College’s Pittsfield location at 66 Allen Street. Biasin’s work will be exhibited for the entire month, and an opening artist reception will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 3, during the city’s First Fridays Artswalk.
Biasin, a photographer, will show new work he has created over the past year, a striking and timeless glimpse of modern-day life contrasted with the expansive serenity of the Berkshire County landscape. In his free hours, Biasin spends his time out on the lakes of the Berkshires, as fishing is one of his all-time favorite hobbies. His other favorite hobby is photography; he finds himself often as a witness to beautiful scenic environments on his expeditions. Biasin’s photographs have been featured several times in the Berkshire Eagle’s “pic of the pics” section.
Biasin is also a student in the MCLA Degree Completion Program, designed for adult learners seeking an accelerated, non-traditional pathway to completing bachelor’s degrees. Classes are offered in the evening, one night per week and online, to help students meet work and family demands. Degree Completion courses meet at MCLA Pittsfield, 66 Allen Street.
