Technical Director, FPA

James W. Bilnoski (he/his) is the Technical Director at MCLA and is also a freelance
                     lighting,
projection, and scenic designer. James holds an MFA in Theatrical Design from Temple
                     University,
Philadelphia PA and a Bachelor’s of Science in Technical Theatre from West Texas A&M,
                     Canyon TX.
Since college his main concentration has been in lighting design, while pursuing other
                     creative
endeavors. He has had a curiosity of projections and how it can be incorporated into
                     many kinds of performance.
“I’ve always been interested in everything.” James came into the theatre by being
                     onstage and found
a passion for being backstage. A passion for building and painting the world that
                     helps tell the story
of each play. “I really delight in the problem solving that comes with building scenery.”
                     James has
made scenic pieces for The El Paso Youth Opera, Austen Riggs Center’s Lavender Door
Productions, Barrington Stage, and Shakespeare and Company. While also working as
                     a theatrical
Electrician for TEXAS, a musical drama, The Santa Fe Opera (2009), Amarillo Globe
                     News Center
(2007-2010), Barrington Stage Co, and Shakespeare and Company.
