About Me

I love teaching in our close-knit department and enjoy the wide variety of courses that I teach. Currently, I am Chair of the mathematics department, the faculty coordinator of the Math Drop-in Center, and the faculty coordinator of QUAC (Quantitative Understanding Across the Curriculum). I am engaged in various aspects of our department, including the Math Society (our student math club). I live in North Adams with my partner and our son. My outside activities include travel, hiking, cooking, and making pottery.

Research/Creative Interests

My research is in graph theory, especially chemical graph theory and planar graphs. I study fullerenes and benzenoids, which are graphical representations of carbon molecules. I often involve students in this research through independent studies or special topics courses. Recently, I have worked in combinatorial generation and computational geometery, including work with students.
