My interests and research are broad. These grow out of my personal and intellectual experience. These include the sociology of sports, religion in modern society, and sociological research methods applied to understanding current affairs. I am currently writing a book on the sociological life, an extended essay on the marriage of sociological thought and personal life. I am also researching perceptions and meanings surrounding the events of 9/11. I believe a non-committal sociology is an impossibility and therefore see all my work as an effort to enhance human freedom through understanding.
